My tutoring approach is very personalized to each student. I work closely with individual students to identify pain points in their current studying/preparation methods and come up with solutions to help them address their needs. I enjoy having checkpoints throughout the tutoring process to ensure progress is being made and change my tutoring style accordingly.

My personal philosophy towards tutoring is built on two pillars: a results-oriented approach and building connections to the real-world. More so than a conventional school teacher, the role of a tutor is to create a student's 'path-to-victory' — understanding the student's road to success on tests/exams, identifying obstacles along that route, and solving them. In that sense, I believe in starting exam preparation earlier rather than later (as the skills this training builds are useful across the course). I understand that not every student needs to master every subject and embrace this reality by focusing on results more than a typical educational system.

When I do introduce a content or strategies that extend beyond the scope of an exam, it's done because I either believe that this student wants to excel in the subject long-term, or to introduce illustrations of concepts that will help students better their understanding. The way in which I excelled in Economics, Politics and many of my other courses involved learning outside of the classroom (through activities like debating, Model UN, and my own experiences as a tutor).

I believe in breaking down complex problems into digestible chunks and drawing parallels to real-life scenarios to enhance understanding. My approach involves explaining content from various perspectives and approaches, catering to different learning styles and preferences. During a typical session, I begin by assessing the student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style preferences. I then tailor the session accordingly, incorporating interactive discussions, visual aids, and hands-on activities to reinforce concepts. I adapt my teaching techniques based on the student's response and feedback, ensuring that each session is productive and engaging. By building a rapport with my students and creating a supportive atmosphere, I strive to instill confidence and enthusiasm for learning while helping them achieve their academic goals.

I have a structured approach to tutoring and believe that it is important for students to learn concepts sequentially in order to gain complete understanding of a subject. My tutoring sessions involve a lot of application where students can complete problems, worksheets, and homework. I believe the best way to learn is through practice.

My primary goal is to understand what the student needs and how they learn. Once we establish a basis of how we will work together, I help as needed to support ideation and problem solving. My goal is to be a resource, not a crutch, for students and to help them feel confident in their subjects.

I make sure to tailor my lessons to each student based on subject, level, age, learning style, and priorities. In the first meeting, I get a gauge of these factors so that I can formulate a thorough and personalized lesson plan can help my student achieve his/her academic goals. Outside of the sessions, I maintain constant communication with my students, following up on any doubts, questions, assigned homework, or material. During sessions, I make sure to be efficient by combining lecture-style with practice-style so that the student can grasp the information while asking clarifying questions and then apply his/her knowledge to questions. Of course, this varies based on the subject being taught and the age group. For instance, if I am tutoring a young student in French, I would include interactive activities and speaking, listening, writing, and reading opportunities, but if I am tutoring an older student in an AP class, the sessions would be faster-paced and more full of content.

Through Levitate, I'm excited to help students learn in ways that are both more effective and more enjoyable. My goal is to make learning fun and engaging, sparking a genuine passion for discovering new things. By introducing creative tools and approaches, I hope to make education more accessible and interesting, motivating students to dive deeper into their studies with excitement and curiosity. Essentially, Levitate is about supporting students to achieve their best, turning the learning process into a rewarding adventure.
