My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of the subjects taught. I strive to create an engaging learning environment by emphasizing problem-solving techniques and putting into light the concrete element in every exercise. In a lesson, I start by reviewing parts of the curriculum that have not been fully understood before moving on to exercises either from the student’s book or tailored to match the student’s needs, focused on the topics that he/she doesn’t feel confident with.

My teaching philosophy centers on making complex concepts accessible and engaging for students. I am committed to explaining ideas in ways that resonate with each individual, and adapt my teaching style to accommodate diverse learning preferences. Above all, I aim to instill my own passion for learning in my students, inspiring them to embrace curiosity and discovery as lifelong pursuits.

As a tutor, I like to teach with practical application in mind and have students learn with the intent of having a better understanding of not just their syllabus, but the world around them. I believe that effective teaching uses examples and analogies, which I always incorporate in my instruction. Lastly, I think that students should be taught with the latest technology in order to have the best comprehension of their subject and so I educate exposing students to the most modern tools used in whichever discipline.

In my teaching philosophy, I prioritize student engagement, personalized learning, and fostering meaningful relationships to create an enjoyable and effective learning environment. I believe in breaking down complex problems into digestible chunks and drawing parallels to real-life scenarios to enhance understanding. My approach involves explaining content from various perspectives and approaches, catering to different learning styles and preferences. During a typical session, I begin by assessing the student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style preferences. I then tailor the session accordingly, incorporating interactive discussions, visual aids, and hands-on activities to reinforce concepts. I adapt my teaching techniques based on the student's response and feedback, ensuring that each session is productive and engaging. By building a rapport with my students and creating a supportive atmosphere, I strive to instill confidence and enthusiasm for learning while helping them achieve their academic goals.

I have a structured approach to tutoring and believe that it is important for students to learn concepts sequentially in order to gain complete understanding of a subject. My tutoring sessions involve a lot of application where students can complete problems, worksheets, and homework. I believe the best way to learn is through practice.

In general, my aim is to make learning both interesting and rigorous for students so they can simultaneously achieve the results they want while also developing a curiosity for the subject. I enjoy getting to know my students as individuals and learners so I can support them to the best of my ability by tailoring my teaching approach to their unique needs. In a typical session, I will try to address any gaps in their current knowledge of the course material using both school-provided and private resources, before returning to reinforce those concepts at a later session.

With both standardized and AP tests, I often encourage my students to look beyond the content. I use questions beyond the test level to solidify my students' understanding and often ask them to explain concepts in their own words such that they can think about topics coherently in their own words.Following the supervision system Cambridge employs, I often lead students through more of a discussion, talking about topics in different ways to ensure their understanding and linking separate topics in such a way that they all mould together. Only when I feel that my students' understanding is at an appropriate level do I begin to present them with practice questions. By that point, these questions are second nature to them.

As a tutor, my most important job is to boost the student's academic confidence, as I believe that academic confidence holds the key to optimized academic performance. I try to increase academic confidence through practice, repetition, and positive feedback. I also make sure to prepare several different methods to explain concepts; sometimes, explaining a concept one way does not stick to the student well, and as a tutor who emphasizes understanding over memorization (although memorization may sometimes be necessary), explanation of concepts in a way that students can understand is very important.

When it comes to teaching, especially in a tutoring setting, it is crucial to build a collaborative partnership with my student. As mentioned in my biography, I feel that education should be something that excites students. So I tend to open my lessons by getting to know my student, to gain a better understanding of what type of learner they are and ultimately try to connect their genuine interests to their education. Beyond forming a collaborative partnership with the student, I also try to work with their parents to gain a better understanding of what they are hoping to get out of these lessons. Whether it simply be better grades or study habits, I always do my best to satisfy my clients needs. I also try to make myself available through email with my students, so they can communicate any queries they may have outside of designated class times. As I understand that an hour or two every week may not be sufficient.
